Ed Bynum Jr., Pastor of New Kingdom Church, is a native of Rocky Mount, NC, currently residing in Raleigh, NC.  He has facilitated a life groups ministry, coached little league baseball, and was a campus minister while studying at North Carolina Central University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Feeling the call to ministry and having a genuine heart for people, Pastor Ed began taking classes towards a ministerial degree at the Raleigh Bible Institute.  After serving as an Associate Minister, Pastor Ed followed the Lord's leading to begin a new ministry, New Kingdom Church, in Knightdale.  His desire is to see God's Kingdom manifest in the hearts of God's people in the hopes that they understand His purpose and plan for their lives.

Pastor Ed is happily married to his beautiful wife, Charlotte, and is the proud father of two amazing children, Joshua and Chloe.

"You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him."  Acts 10:38  New American Standard Bible

Our Mission

Our Mission

New Kingdom Church is ministry born out of a vision that God placed in Pastor Ed's heart many years ago.

Our mission is primarily to reach the unchurched, as well as church goers that currently find themselves without a church home.  We believe in the importance of discipleship and the necessity of teaching God's Word with simplicity and love.  Lastly, we believe to see salvation, healing and deliverance manifest as individuals are changed by the power of God's Word.

Our Beliefs

  • That Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that He was crucified, died, and was buried. On the third day, He rose from the dead, and later ascended into heaven, where He remains at the right hand of God Almighty.

  • That after death, eternal life continues either in heaven or hell, based on your decision to make Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior. That when the Rapture occurs, the dead in Christ will rise first, and then those who are alive and remain (those who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior) will be caught up to meet Him in the air.

  • The Bible was written and inspired by God.

  • Faith is a practical response to the Word of God.

  • In water baptism in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • In the authority of Jesus’ name.

  • In the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

  • In divine healing—the restoration of health to those who believe and act on the truths written in God’s Word. We further believe that Jesus is our Healer, and that by His stripes, we are already healed.

  • That the local church is the place of membership where God has called you to receive His Word on a consistent basis and to grow spiritually.

  • In giving alms to the poor, sick, homeless, and others in despair.

  • Biblical Equality:
We believe in the Biblical equality and value of all human persons, as men, women, and children of all races were created in the image of God and are called to His service. (Gen.1:27; John 1:12; Gal.3:28; Joel 2:28, 29)
